MASARI | MIX-USED DEVELOPMENT
MINE, is a multi-use development, compromising of a shopping mall and SOHO apartments, located in Nairobi. The project takes precedence from traditional step wells to create a programmatic and atmospheric approach, devising a new shopping experience for the visitor. The retail experience is organized around a grand stairway ascending five levels. Through minor interventions the stairway offers an opportunity for adaptable usage, creating a vibrant setting for the central space across time. By adding a SOHO on top of the mall, the building continues to stay animated at higher levels. The two programs come together in a consistent facade language of interwoven elements to create visual interest from the street.
